TEALS (Technology Education and Literacy in Schools) is gearing up for year 3 in Northeast Ohio. This year, TEALS supported 26 teachers starting computer science classes for the first time. The program is growing to 34 classes for the 2019/20 school year.
TEALS pairs software developers with classroom teachers in a co-teaching model. The goal is to support teachers until they feel comfortable leading classes on their own. If you have a background in programming and want to increase access to computer science in NE Ohio, TEALS would love for you to volunteer. Classes are always first period and volunteers are asked to come in two mornings per week.
