Hello world!

My name is Naba Rizvi. I am a junior majoring in Information Technology with a minor in Digital Art & Design at the University of Toledo. I am also the Founder and Chair of our ACM-W student chapter with around 15 members and a regional rep for the Ohio Community of Women in Computing for the North West region. If you know about any tech events that should be posted on here, contact me!

Exciting things are happening in our region. ACM-W is in the process of organizing the first student led hackathon at our University. We are also teaching a free JavaScript course to all our members and partnering up with the Girls Who Code club at the Toledo Early College to teach high school students how to code. Additionally, we are planning a tech careers day to introduce more girls and women to the wonderful and exciting world of computing by educating them on the plethora of career opportunities available to them!

More information will be shared on this blog as soon as it is available to us. Plenty of hackathons, conferences, and summits are on the forecast for this academic year so stay tuned! 🙂
