Rachelle Kristof Hippler is an Associate Professor of Software Engineering at Baldwin Wallace University near Cleveland, OH. She is a member of the leadership team for ACM-W Professional Chapters and has been active with OCWIC since it started in 2005 holding positions of Conference Chair and Logistics Chair. She currently holds the board member position of vice-chair on the OCWIC Council.
|Currently, a||Engineering Manager|
|Nominator’s statement||Ashley did a fantastic job stepping forward to Chair OCWiC conference 2 years ago. She has a passion and knowledge for the organization. Ashley has the head and heart to be an eventual succession plan for the chair position with more formal exposure.|
Ashley Kline-Tozzi has spent the last 12 years in the Web application / Software Development industry. She obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Strayer University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University. She began her career as a Web application developer with a love of learning and wanting to understand the business processes in order to provide the right solutions.
It is because of that desire to understand and create what the business needs to be successful, she decided to shift gears a bit and moved into a product owner/manager role. In this role she worked with senior leadership to build solutions and managed a small team. She has always had a passion for helping people learn and grow. She knew she wanted to manage building people just as much, if not more, as building software. That led her to her role as an Engineering Manager at Beam Dental where she is responsible for helping her team continue to strengthen and grow their skills.
In addition to her work experiences, she has been an active participant in the Ohio Celebration of Women in Computing events. She has attended as a student and moved to volunteering as an industry professional performing resume reviews, program development and most recently the role of General Chair. She has thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities to connect with, encourage, and “pull back the curtain” for students to see there are many opportunities in the world of computing!
Lastly, but the most important, Ashley has a 6 year old daughter who loves playing games and completing puzzles with her mom! Her daughter loves math and hopefully always will!
|Currently, a||Graduate Student|
|at||Baldwin Wallace University|
|Nominator’s statement||Melinda has been an active part of the OCWiC organization for many years, serving in a number of different roles. Recently she has been the “ring leader” for OCWiC Jobs. In this role, Melinda initiated a private LinkedIn group for OCWiC members only. Melinda is a strong advocate for women in computing in Ohio. She is also an effective leader.|

Since I have been involved in various capacities supporting the Celebration and Community, including as Ring Leader of the Jobs Ring in the Community, as well as Associate Sponsor Liaison and now Sponsor Liaison for the Celebration.
My educational credentials include a BA in International Economics and Management from Hiram College, MA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a capstone synthesizing Computer Science and Psychology from Hiram College, and an MBA in Entrepreneurship that I will finish on July 9, 2020 from Baldwin Wallace University.
